Lukas Kmit kicks off our second concert of the series with a performance of the exciting Viola Concerto by Hoffmeister, followed by Amelia Jones playing Mozart's second masterful violin concerto. Concluding the concert will be soprano Rosie Bell singing the exhilarating motet Exsultate, Jubilate.

ROSIE BELL - GUEST ARTIST

Soprano Rosie Bell was born in Carlisle and now lives and works in London, studying with Alison Wells. She attended Trinity school and studied singing with Michael Hancock before taking up a place to read Philosophy and English Literature at the University of Edinburgh. During her time in Edinburgh she trained with Eric von Ibler, and sang with The Holyrood Ensemble, Edinburgh Camerata, and Edinburgh Studio Opera for whom she performed numerous leading roles. She graduated with first class honours in 2005, and moved to London in to pursue a postgraduate diploma and advanced diploma in vocal performance, studying with John Wakefield and Alistair Young at Trinity College of Music.

Rosie graduated with distinction from TCM in 2007 and currently works freelance in opera, operetta and oratorio, and as a solo recitalist.  Her roles have included La Contessa / Le Nozze di Figaro, Dido / Dido & Aeneas, Therese / Les Mammelles de Tiresias, Anne Truelove / The Rake's Progress, Dorabella / Cosi fan Tutte, Lucy /The Telephone, Polly Peachum and Lucy Lockit / The Beggar's Opera, Amor / L'Egisto,  Gretel / Hansel & Gretel , Mabel / Pirates of Penzance , Iolanthe / Iolanthe, Buttercup / H.M.S. Pinafore  and Pitti Sing / The Mikado . Recent engagements include Countess Almaviva for Vignette productions' acclaimed sellout production of Le Nozze di Figaro at Wiltons Music Hall and in Seillans, Var, Damon Albarn's Monkey, Journey to the West, at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris and at the Royal Opera House, West Side Story for Pimlico Opera, and The Cunning Little Vixen (Kobylka), Eliagobalo (Atilia Macrina, cover) and Der fliegende Holländer for Grange Park Opera. She is currently appearing in Carl Rosa Opera's Autumn tour of Pirates of Penzance.
