SUNDAY AFTERNOON  -  28th FEBRUARY 2010

PROGRAMME

J.N. Hummel:
Fantasia for Viola in D minor

W.A. Mozart:
Clarinet Concerto in A major, K622

Horn Concerto No.3 in Eb major, K447

A major composer of the classical era, so often overlooked due to his use of other composer's themes and melodies in his work, Hummel wrote a huge number of works in his career. Emily Heathcote performs Mozart's justly famous Clarinet Concerto, the first major work for the instrument and still the best known. Emma Whitney performs the third of Mozart's four horn concerti - originally written for one of his best friends, these works are truly fantastic examples of the composers genius.
